Blog Background

Background

The Life in Armenia Blog is a group blog of various repats (repatriates) who are living in Armenia. Some of these bloggers began blogging on Cilicia.com over 10 years ago.

The archives of the first years of the blog are available here, though we hope to import them into this blog format at some point.

Many of the readers have over the years given very thoughtful, kind or fun feedback.  Some have given assistance to projects we’ve worked on, some have bumped into us on the street and said hello.  This has been a part of what makes blogging rewarding.  We’d just like to remind you however that although constructive criticism is as welcome as compliments, insults are not.

We hope you enjoy the blogs!

Why are we here?

Everybody has their own reasons.  Life in Armenia can be very rewarding, it can be very different, very challenging and of course sometimes very funny.  The general idea though is to give people on the outside some perspective on what it might be like for them to live in Armenia, so that they can consider whether it would be the right move for them.  The simple goal here is not to just paint a rosy picture, but rather to present the good, the bad and the ugly.

Who can blog?

There are no hard and fast rules, but generally people who are here for a year or more are the idea, so that they can present a real sense of living here.  Guest bloggers with interesting stories and perspectives are welcome as well.  If you’re interested in contributing here, let us know with a comment that includes your email address (it won’t be published).
