| This song was the march of the Armenina volunteers (Gamavors). These units served with the Russian Army against the Turks in World War I. After the Russian Revolution of 1917, the Russians broke ranks and went home. This left tens of thousands of Armenian troops to defend a front previously defended by ten times that number. Despite these adverse conditions, the volunteers stopped the Turks and allowed the creation of the Armenian Republic on May 28, 1918. This song is also the anthem of the A.Y.F.-Y.O.A.R.F. | ||
