MORE AID FOR ARMENIANS

Relief Committee Issues Another Call for Funds

DECEMBER 10, 1915

Samuel T. Dutton, Secretary of the American Committee for Armenian and Syrian Relief, said yesterday that, although more than $100,000 had been sent to the sufferers, more relief was needed. He also said that the British and American committees were working together.

"T. P. O'Connor, who is a member of the General Committee of the Armenian Refugees (Lord Mayor's) Fund," he said, "is chiefly responsible for the closer co-operation. He has written to both Oscar S. Straus and myself, and it was through his suggestion that we have been able to work together to better purpose than before.

"I cable to Ambassador Morgentau yesterday for a report on conditions in Armenia, and expect to nave his reply in a few days.

"We have combined all the various Armenian relief committees under the general name of the American Committee for Armenian and Syrian Relief, and each committee is working harmoniously with the main office. We received $15,000 yesterday from the Boston committee and $1,000 from Hartford, and we hope that the money will continue coming in, as the need of it is very great."
