Hacked...

Yes, this site and Armeniapedia were hacked. Yes, it was no fun. No, it is not clear if it is over. Yes, I think I know the name, address and phone number of the guy who I suspect did it (in Azerbaijan).

I'm sure you know that it's the FBI that deals with these issues but it's a low priority for them. You should probably contact the embassy security staff and see what can they do.

Do you or the host make regular backups of the sites?

I noticed. Deliberate hacking attacks have a tendency to not be quickly and definitively "over." Glad you are on the air currently.

Raffi why are you letting abusive words like those above be used in comments? By doing this we just look as bad. Delete the swearing please, just as you would with any other post.

Raffi jan the flip side of the coin is that even Azerbaijani's browse through your site. So it means that your site is important to them as well. You can concider that your site has accomplished something even in azerbaijani cirlcles.

ARMENIAN INTERFERENCE IN AZERBAIJANI WEBSITES DECREASE

APA - Azeri Press Information Agency
12 Sen. 2006 16:01

"Azerbaijani hackers interfered Armenia's and other countries' websites
many times, and Armenian websites met the danger of being hacked,"
Iltimas Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Communication and Information
Technologies told journalists, APA reports.

"Our websites are controlled from one center, and that is why our
network has stronger protection than any other CIS countries," he
said. He also said Armenian interference to Azerbaijani websites
has decreased.

The deputy Minister did not rule out that there is Internet relation
between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

"This aims to find the enemy's week points. It is not possible to
break up the Internet relations fully, because the providers are
connected to the Global Internet Network. Armenians' any actions
against Azerbaijan are prevented," he said.
