"My dollar store"-ը և հայկական մեթալիտետը
Օրերս Երևանում բացվեց "My dollar store" առաջին խանութը, որը հավակնում է խանութների ցանց դառնալ: Սա ամերկյան "99 cent"-ի հայկական տարբերակն է, սակայն այստեղ բոլոր ապրանքները 800 դրամ են: Ավելի հաճախ անիմաստ, բայց երբեմն մանր-մունր օգտակար և fun բաներ կարելի է գտնել այդ խանութներում: Ողջունելի նախաձեռնություն է, շատերը, նամանավանդ ԱՄՆ-ում ինչ-որ ժամանակ ապրած կամ գործուղման եղած իմ ծանոթները, բավականաչափ ուրախացել էին, և խանութը դեռ չբացված արդեն զուգահեռներ էին տանում այստեղի ու ԱՄՆ-ի միջև, զուտ հայկական բնույթի անառարկելի հետևություններ անում խանութի ճակատագրի վերաբերյալ :) Անցյալ շաբաթ, բացումից հաշված օրեր հետո, կամ երևի հենց հաջորդ օրն էր, աշխատակցիս հետ իր մեքենայով իջնում էինք Կոմիտասով (խանութը Փափազյանի վրա է, "Երիցյան և որդիներ" սուպերմարկետի վերջնամասում): Սույն անձնավորությունը տարիներ առաջ 3 ամիս գործուղման է եղել ԱՄՆ-ում և, իր բնույթով լինելով շատ տպավորվող և շուտ ոգևորվող, անդառնալիորեն սիրահարվել է այնտեղի բարքերին ու կարգերին, ու մշտապես պատմում է, թե այնտեղ ինչն ինչպես էր, ասես թե մենք էլ ոչ լսել ենք, ոչ տեսել :) Իմանալով իր այս հատկության մասին, հենց այնպես, խոսքի մեջ ասեցի, որ այդքան գովազդվող խանութն արդեն բացվել է: Երևի կարիք չկա նշելու, որ նա մեքենայի ղեկը անմիջապես թեքեց խանութի ուղղությամբ :) Անկեղծ ասած, ես էլ ցանկություն ունեի տեսնելու այդքան գովազդվող խանութը, կամ ավելի ճիշտ, ցանկանում էի տեսնել "99 cent"-ի հայկական իրականացումը: Բայց ... մեզ դաժան հիասթափություն էր սպասվում :)))) Դեռ խանութին չմոտեցած, նկատեցինք ներս մտնել ցանկացողների ահռելի բանակը` մոտ 200 հօգի: Մի 50 մարդ էլ խանութի ամբողջ երկայնքով ցուցափեզկերից էին ներս նայում, երևի փորձելով տեսնել ներսում եղած տեսականին: Նույնիսկ չփորձեցինք կանգնել, այլ քշեցինք-անցանք կողքով, որոշելով մի շաբաթից վերադառնալ: Հետո երկար մտածում էի, թե ովքեր էին այդքան հավաքվել: Վերջիվերջո, ընկերներիցս մեկն ասեց, որ վերավաճառողներ են եղել, որոնք փորձել են ինչ-որ էժան ապրանքներ ձեռք բերել, հետո այլ տեղերում վաճառելու նպատակով: Ու երեկվա դրությամբ էլ խանութում նույն հերթն էր: Փաստորեն, Հայաստանում նորամուծություն անելու այս հերթական նախաձեռնությունն էլ տապալման վտանգի առաջ է: Շուտով երևի սահմանափակումներ կմտցնեն, ասենք մի ապրանքից կարող ես մի հատ գնել, կամ ամեն շարքից պարտադիր մի բան պետք է վերցնես ... Նույն հայկական մենթալիտետի շունչն է զգացվում նույնիսկ այստեղի սուպերմարկետների մեծամասնությունում, երբ խանութ մտնող ամեն մեկին պոտենցիալ գողի տեղ են դնում ու միանգամից 2 հոգի տարբեր անկյուններից սկսում են հետևել ու կրնկակոխ հետապնդել քեզ, չիմանալով երևի, որ ամբողջ աշխարհում շատ վաղուց հսկման համակարգեր են օգտագործում ու ոչ մեկը առևտուր անելիս "չի նստում շնչիդ": Տեսնես ինչքա՞ն ժամանակ կպահանջվի, մինչև հայերը նորից դառնան քաղաքակիրթ (առաջնորդվենք "անմեղության կանխավարկածով", և ենթադրենք, որ ինչ-որ ժամանակ, այնուամենայնիվ, մենք եղել ենք քաղաքակիրթ ազգ: Ամոթ է, բաըց արդեն սկսել եմ կասկածել) ...

Aramk, you gotta take it easy. That is no 'haykakan mentalitet'.
Long lines mean a lot for a successful business. Unless the owners are making a loss on their products, such publicity and fuss is an extremely desirable event for a business. Shops spend a lot of money to attract customers. This store has been successful in doing so. So what that some of the customers are resellers. There is a whole cottage industry on eBay that's resellers. They are always on a lookout for a good deal in stores and once they get their hands on some merchandise, it ends up on eBay.
As for large crowds, it is not an Armenian mentality, either. The day after the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, the stores kick start the Christmas shopping season. That day, they have increadible bargains (or so they say) and open the stores at 5 or 6 am. People line up at the doorso that they can get in first and get their hands on those limited deals. Every year people get injured, and sometimes die, in their quest to get that $40.00 DVD player.
Well, if the store is similar to 99 cent store of the U.S., then I gotta tell you guys, 99 cent store here uses items that will expire in no time. It is tricky. Say you buy ice cream from 99c it tastes nothing like Breyers of Ralphs store... So I hope that store wont be anything like the 99 cent store. lol
Also Aramk, just be careful when you say "Armenian nation did this and that..." There are not many true bloded Armenians out there... So, just because someone wears ian in their last name or can talk and write in Armenian does not mean they are the Armenian...
And yeah, I agree with you about չտես people... I see them in the USA every day... Like Nazarian said... I have even worse example... lol I went to restaurant for lunch with my sis... ok there is this skiny guy, who was having steak. Then I saw him drinking two large Cokes, then he ordered a large piece of Chocolate Cake... when we were about to leave I noticed that he wanted to order something more... so even in the USA people can't buy class... this is some global issue, I think...
In dollar stores you end up paying more than you would otherwise. Most of the crap is only worth for one time usage if you manageto use those thing even once :) They are in low and bad quality or sometimes you can find the same thing cheaper in a regular shop. There is nothing for free in capitalism.

Aram, if you were a capitalist, you wouldn't agree with the 'ptatz capitalism' remark :) As if the system the Soviets had was not more rotten.
The social result of capitalism is to encourage more consumption - that's what the system is based on. So everybody strives to make more money so that they can consume more. Some go overboard by consuming more than they can earn and go into debt.
It's the human nature, I guess. A few people disagree with this but your average person wants to better his/her material standing in the society.
To add:
In Capitalis you have the choice of not buying.
In communism you dont have the choice of buying :)
So I prefer capitalism.
Be smart, value your money and dont follow the consumption traps and you will be fine.
Hey the dollar store in the US is my BEST friend! I buy my students stupid little prizes which will break after one use, but as long as it keeps them quiet to earn raffle tickets.... I will spend the $10 a week out of my pocket for it! Thank goodness for the Marukai 98cent store! lol
