Sourp Zadige shnorhavor polorin!
Happy Easter to everyone!
Yes, yes, I know that religion is not a staple of this blog, but I'm afraid it's very much a part of Life in Armenia. Easter is gaining a stronger foothold of late or, rather, I should say it is re-acquiring its importance with the people. I've noticed a resurgence in maintaining church traditions around here; more and more people are attending mass, and there is a greater awareness of the significance of Christianity, particularly for the Armenians.
Well, let me have the honour of wishing everyone who reads this blog a wonderful Easter. Try out the traditional Armenian greeting and reply above, which means, "Christ is resurrected from the dead. Blessed is the resurrection of Christ".
Happy egg-cracking!

Thank you for the Easter Greetings and don't apologise as an Armenian for including them in your blog..surely that is the ''essence '' of your nation over all these years HE IS RISEN INDEED
It is quite right that our people should be turning to our Church at times like this. We are delighted that you are seeing this at your end. WE are seeing the same positive attitude here in the west.
It is great for our people, our Hayastan. Thank you for sharing this information with us.
Oh I forgot to mention Happy Easter to you ALL too !
Hope it turns out to be a sunny weekend as well.
"Greater awareness" ... yes I have noticed, though simple respect for one another, putting an end to jealousy towards one another, and an end to extramarital affairs are issues that need to be tackled ASAP.
Happy Easter to all.
Happy Easter to you too :)
Thank you all for still making many dream away while reading you. Cheers!

Yesterday I was watching "Jesus of Nazareth" and I realised that how contemporary it is. It was like watching now days Armenian reality: people religious but apparently not, priests and politicians corrupt and power maniacs, people jealous and ready to stub your back.
I guess we need a revolutionary like Jesus. Since his so called representative(s), including the head priest, already betrayed him.

we are very pleased to read all this. This is exactly how it should be. We are seeing a similar picture here in the west.
Happy Easter to you all.

I was at Noravank this year for Easter service, it was quite interesting. The whole service seemed geared towards teaching people and especially a large group of children about the church and liturgy.
I don't believe you people! "More people should turn to church"??!!! And everybody is just nodding... Every self-respecting human should be dead worried that RELIGION is on the rise in the entire world, that more and more people worshipping the figments of their imagination.
The very reasonable secularism of the Soviet era is being replaced by different irrational belief systems in Armenia, and everybody is congratulating himself...
I wouldn't call it so reasonable...people got sent to the Gulag for their faith.
