April 24 in DC

Many photos of the last three days have been uploaded to my website and there are still some to go. I have done all but the Capitol Hill Armenian Genocide Observance which will be up soon. Included so far are photos from the protest on the 24th, Serj and John's meetings with Congressmen, the screening of the "Screamers" documentary, and Serj and John's interviews with the Press.

Coming soon is a VERY special suprise, one that blew my mind. Something happened yesterday that convinced me I was dreaming. Never in a million years could I have imagined this would happen, and the chances are one in a billion. Sorry for the suspense, but I need to wait before releasing the info on this one... I have to wait until the official Press Release is distributed, but once it's out there, I will share photos and the full story.

Once again, my photo website is: www.digitalrailroad.net/arsineh

Arisneh,

This is incredible work you have done to document a high profile demonstration melding the rock world with politics. Outstanding dedication from you and the rest of the ANC staff and members of System, Serj and John. We should all be thankful for the work you folks do selflessly.

The credit goes to Serj, John, and the ANCA staff for pulling off a powerful campaign of advocacy for a just cause.

Oh yeesh... I know it's annoying, I'm sorry. I thought the press release would go out sooner, which is why I even mentioned it, but it's being delayed. I'll give a hint. Let's just say that in the frantic rush of running around the Hill, we ran into a key player in the game. I am not engage, it is purely to do with Serj and John's visit to DC and someone we encountered along the way. I'll fill you in once the news breaks.

Ahh ok, I actually heard about this run in while I was at the observance. Pretty coincidental, wasn't it! I'm glad it happened, though nothing actually is going to come from such a run in, right? Regardless it was still great.

Coincidental indeed... we couldn't have written a better story. As far as what will happen from this, possibly something. The bottom line is that the Armenian American pressure on Congress is strengthening and now the leadership is seeing that they can't get away from us. With this, and the weakening Turkish lobby, and the efforts of many Turks today trying to discuss this in their own country, and Hastert under scrutiny for pay offs from the Turks, it can all line up to push them over the edge and put this resolution to a vote already. No single thing will ever make the difference alone. But this week of advocacy may be what it takes to push the balance over. As John Dolmayan said, "Even a blade of grass can break through concrete, and Id rather be the grass than the concrete." That captures the essence of this week.
