Jehova's Witnesses
So when I asked who was at the door (without opening it), the reply in Armenian was "Jill", I want to discuss the bible with you. I assume Jill is an American who has learned Armenian. I assume her name and presence are intended to spark interest in locals. I asked if she came representing the Armenian Church. She said she came as a Jehova's witness. Despite the temptation to open the door and talk to them (there was someone with Jill), only in order to waste her time and keep her from other victims, I couldn't bring myself to do it. They had approached me and a friend once in the street as well a few years back. Uff, why don't they all go to China? There's a billion souls there for them!

thank you man. see that now i believe you can understand the locals, that it is not discrimination about religions of others...the problems is in Jehovas witnesses and not in armenian people as some so called "human rights activitst" present it! Also - i liked your solution sending them to china, next time i meet JW's i will advice them!
JWs are brainwashed to accept criticism well. They believe any kind of discrimination against them is not a bad thing, but proof that non-believers of their faith are dumb and ignorant, and they are of a more knowledgeable status. Therefore, telling them off and spitting in their face is a good thing in their eyes. Just as people spat on Christ and tormented Him, that’s how they see themselves.
It’s upsetting that our Armenian churches are not more active in battling such ignorance. It’s also a major threat to our national security.
I was so crushed today to learn a really sweet local girl I know has become a JW. How can an intervention be done?!?!?!?
Raff, a cousin of mine used to work at a restaurant here in Yerevan. He told me 4 of the 10 waiters/waitresses were Jehovah's Witnesses.
How can an intervention be done with the really sweet local girl? Send her to me, I'll take care of it.
It is hard in Armenia as The Armenian Church and the Armenian Nationality are so intermixed. It is important to uphold the Armenian Church.
As a foreigner here, I have used the following:
I ask: If you are Christian, why are you here? Is your pushing of your ideas not like digging up your Great Grandfather from the gave, spitting on him, and declaring him not of your family? The JWs, Morons and Pentacostals that I have done this with do not have an answer. I then sit them down and explain Christianity and Nationalism. Most have not made it to the end but I came close a couple of times.

Hey Jason - yes, I tend to think there is nothing that can be said to dissuade missionaries...
Next time you think about your freedom of religion, remember that it had been Jehovah's Witnesses who in a lot of cases in several countries (European and American as wel as in former sovjet countries who have been fiting for freedom of religion.
Read Forum18.org who are neutral reporters from Finland who write about free religion.
These comments were great. My husband tells them to quit trying to convert others from their religion. Instead go to those who have no religion. Unfortunately, we just learned a grandson and wife walked out on a family luncheon after a discussion. This will mean breaking up family visits with one another. How sad and for their children who will not know the delights of holidays. Could say much more, but you understand where we are coming from.
Hey Guys remember what the true meaning of Jehovah is (GOD) and he is love lets not hate and criticize others for their beliefs. In today's corrupted world we dont really know what church is the true church if the Jehovas Witnesses feel as if they are Gods chosen ones well in the end we shall all know for we will all be judged by the one and mighty heavenly father all we need to do is stop the hate and start spreading love, love one another and importantly love God and look upon him as your personal saviour believe in him and of his second comming.
