water water everywhere...

The water issue seems to finally be improving in Yerevan. Although I have heard of very few cases (1 to be exact) of anyone's water going to 24hrs a day, it does seem that the number of hours the city water comes is getting vastly better in places. I am probably getting about 4 hours more water during the day than I used to, and sometimes more. Quite nice I must say...

Hey Raff... you're right! I get water from 7am-2pm, and 7pm-12am. That's a lot! Of course the fact that I'm never home, or awake to use it is a different issue! hahaha :)

I used to have water 18 hours/day (6pm-12pm), then it became more sporadic for a few months (I assume they were fixing the pipes.)

Ya, it does seem better now, but same as what I used to have before. :-)

I'm just thankful it's the water and not inconsistent electricity like in Georgia.

When we were in Armenia, we rented a place on Gomidas near the shooga and the water was 24/7. I asked if they had a water tank when we went to rent it and they said no, but said the water was on for 24 hours.

I generally have water 24/7, it rarely happens that the water is cut off for a few hours. Come to think of it, I cannot think of any friends in Yerevan that still keep a bathtub supply of water (or use any other way of stocking up on water) like they used to before.

I remember a few years ago, in winter there would be water pretty much 24/7 and then in summer there would be water only for a few hours a day. Is there still a difference between winter and summer "rationing" in those areas of the city where there is no running water all the time?

When I rented a place on Khanjian street in March, we had such a random supply of water. Usually 7-10am ( I'd still be asleep) and 7-10pm. Stupidly, there was a tank for hot water, but not a tank for cold.. which meant that we could take as many hot showers as we wanted...but not use the toilet all day. That really used to annoy me.

I tried to train myself to wake up in time, but every morning i'd be disheartened to see the clock had passed 10am:( It's all part of the experience..
