Wonderful pictures -- thank you for sharing. I imagine it was amazing to be in Yerevan today.
Thanks for the pics.
Just a question: were there a lot of flags of the Republic of Armenia?!?
I have the impression that the ones who usually go on a flag-waving fest are Tashnagtsagan......
Anyway, not that I have a problem with flags, but I just don't see what flags have to do with this. But the ARF can come up with something "nationalistic" out of, literally, anything. That's a shame, and a huge turnoff. I always took a liking to the ARF, but lately I've grown very cold towards them. I don't know why.
No - no flags. There were banners this year, something I had not noticed in the past, and which I did not like at all. I prefer the simpler laying of a flower to honor the memory...
My apartment faces one of the entrance roads to Tsitsernakaberd Park. All day long until far into the evening there were lare crowds walking up to memorial. Especially in the morning I did see quite a few flags, but not anymore in the afternoon. Most of the flags I saw were carried by members of groups going up to the memorial, but I was too far off, though, to read any of the banners they were carrying.
guys how ignorant you sometimes can be, just tell me: what does the red mean in the armenian flag????
think about it
