Well the rallies have been whatever. I watched the passive crowd on friday night then returned for another look later and by 9pm the crowd had thinned and those who were there earlier a lot were just passers by and not there to rally. Anyway I left Yerevan on Saturday all day and I'm sure Raffi will tell that story. Although we did not see any blockage in or out of the city, I'm told that it was the buses filled with people that were not allowed in to the city not cars. Today I will go again to watch and maybe even walk up Baghramian to the parliament.
On a different note, not that I like talking about this but I feel that readers should know, just in this past week old guys have tried to pick me up in their cars. The first instance was in the morning on my way to work crossing at the lights, this fat guy in a niva gestures me to come to his car. When I start mumbling under my breath (I will not quote what I said) the fat guy got fed up and said "dah, dah, ansri" well go ahead?
The other instance was last night, I went to Arto's last concert from the Armenian Navy Band and even though my friends asked to walk me home I thought I would be ok since it was only 2 blocks away from home. So again this other fat guy makes a remark while I was walking, I ignored him and kept walking. Then I noticed he got inside his car made a uturn, stopped the car in front of me and got out saying "siroun akhtchig"blah blah, I turned around and asked him in English if he was following me, usually they tend to give up at this point especially since I had raised my voice. Not this fat guy though, he got back in his car and kept driving ahead and stopped right in front of my house entrance. I stopped when I saw him since I couldn't go inside my entrance. Three men standing asked if they could help. But instead of helping they ask where I was from where did I live? WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE, ARE YOU GOING TO HELP OR NOT? what saved me was an american girl who was walking on her own and when they saw that there were 2 of us, everyone pissed off and left us alone!!!
