i have stayed silent for too long. hi everyone :o)

i would like to start off my log by complimenting harout on his, and stating that it really is one of the best logs i have read in a long time. bravo

political unrest in armenia is apparent in daily life. my assistant was not able to come to work or attend her classes the other day because she is from etchmiadzin and they had blocked the roads. when she called in to tell us she will not be coming she confided in me that she was just trying to get an education... just trying to drive into town to empower her mind... very sad that she was not able to attend classes. I know all about sacrafices but at times I feel we as a people are not sure that these sacrafices are for ... anything but the lesser of two evils... not really sure which side is the lesser??? . when you look at the big picture and put aside all the personalities and the particularities... awareness for a better armenia is on the rise and i see it happening every day (little by little but our stock is going up people).

april holds many titles for armenia. today we once again celebrate women (which we should be celebrating on a daily basis), we focus on the injustice of genocide and appreciate jazz (an art founded on the need to create after centuries of oppression). after visiting the chamber orchestra of armenia last night... and in general living in armenia... i have come to understand that the reason why we as a nation have so much talent... is because we are a country of old souls... with many stories to tell... how amazing we choose to tell them through beautiful music, flowing poetry and amazing art.

i am trying to write this new paragraph about our trip to egypt but am finding it hard. i feel too passionate about armenia right now to switch my mind to something else. i will have to save the trip for another time. i will say that travelling is by far my favorite thing to do in the world. However something tiny kept tugging at me the whole time I was there. I terribly missed my Vardaguyn (Pink) Yerevan.
