Why hasn�t anyone logged about the debate? We watched a historical moment last night, a debate between Kocharian and Demirchian. Yesterday most of the streets were closed off and both parties had their own rallies, Kocharian at Matenadaran all the way down to the opera and Demirchian at Republic Square. I went past the square and they had music playing instead of speeches it was unbelievable.

The debate went for 2 hours and was spoken in front of a panel of 6 television channels. It was a total embarrassment. Kocharian was calm and collected and his responses were full of statistics, Demirchian on the other hand looked like a blockhead, you know a rugby player who�s been hit on the head once too many times? Kocharian kept insisting that the opposition had no clear view on the resolution of the Karabagh conflict and other regional issues. Kocharian also stated that a victory by the opposition would be �dangerous� to our country.

I wish I had taped the whole thing, it truly was a farcical!
