So I will soon play in my first chess tournament ever in Armenia. I have played about 8 tournaments in my life (all in the USA), the toughest so far being the 2000 NY Open (where I gathered a not-so-impressive 2 out of 9 albeit against very tough competition)...I will play in the 1-day 9 round weekend blitz tourney (15 minutes each side per game) in Yerevan on Saturday. Maybe tonite's khorovadz and vodka is not the best preparatory regiment, but let's see how the pawns land...In any case, it was important to send off a couple of my friend in a proper manner - after all they are to play in Batumi next week in an important tournament, and I look forward to hearing the successes of the Armenians in Georgia once again. OK report to follow!!!
