I was just now out on my balcony admiring Mt. Ararat when I noticed some cops parked in front of the post office pointing people to the side of the road to collect cash. The cars (I watched them drive up to where the cops were) had done nothing wrong. It took the cops about a minute to collect each bribe (2 dollars). Then another car with license plate 03 LU 100 sped up, and drove on the wrong side of the street and pulled up to the new remodeling job they are having done right in front of the cops. The cops of course did not even approach this guy. Why? For two reasons. #1) He had a "special" license plate, basically anything starting with a zero, or if all of the numbers are the same... 55 oo 555, etc. These cost a lot of money and make you somewhat untouchable. That leads us to reason #2) anyone that drives with such attitude must be quite special, which scares the cops, and they don't want to mess. So, isn't it good to know I have such a "special" new neighbor?

Aaanyways, work is going well. Again, I will wait to tell you more about it. The only thing is I have to dress nicely which means no shorts and it is incredibly hot these days! I mean really really hot!

So the person I know who is going to head across Western Armenia via Georgia in a van is still looking for travel partners now that I backed out. If you are interested and can leave from Yerevan in very early July let me know so I can put you all in touch with each other. You would naturally share the cost of petrol, but it would not amount to that much. Camping etc would be the usual accomodation. (it is a camper van)
