I am not surprised at all to hear that retirees are moving to Armenia. The cost of living and quality of life here are an amazing combination. The only big disadvatage is that the weather is not as warm as that of Florida (although at least there is no humidity here). Otherwise, you can live comfortably in the center of town with a full time caretaker for $500 bucks, and outside of the center of town for less than half that, depending on where. So why not? People are going in droves abroad to retire, and considering you can do it here for even less, and go to great philharmonic performances, operas, monasteries and museums as well should make it pretty tempting...
